NorthernColo are providers of quality Manchester Colocation. Our racks are located in a secure cage in a Manchester datacentre, with high speed and resilient internet connections.

We supply electricity, air conditioning, fire suppression, backup power supply, multi-level security and an internet connection. You supply a rack-mountable server, or servers, from 1U upwards.

Our Manchester collocation presents a viable alternative to London colocation, for northern based businesses and individuals this can make life a lot easier if you ever need access to your server(s).

We offer a range of additional features to which you can subscribe, these include firewalling, remote reboot ports, additional IP addresses, NAS space for backups, and server management.

Manchester Colocation - Quarter Racks and Full Racks
We are now able to offer larger amounts of space in Manchester datacentres. This would be in a code-locked rack in our secure cage. You would obtain cage key and code lock combination, and have 24/7 unaccompanied access passes as detailed in the table below.

Contract Lengths
Our standard contract length for small (i.e. <= 5U of space) is just 3 Months. Contact length for 11U quarter racks is 6 Months. Contact length for full racks is 12 Months. During this period your rental price will be fixed. We can agree longer contracts upon request.

Technical Support
As standard you will receive freephone telephone support during office hours, and emergency support out-of-hours. This includes testing connectivity to your machine etc. We will respond to connectivity incidents in a timely manner and aim to be within our SLA of 99.9% in any case.

Where an engineer needs to visit your server to investigate hardware/software failure on your machine(s), or accompany you to the datacentre to investigate or replace faulty hardware/software on your machine(s), the following rates apply:

Office Hours: (9am - 5pm Monday - Friday) £45 callout charge, inc. 30 mins. Additional time £35 per 30 mins.
Out of Office Hours: £95 callout charge, inc. 30 mins. Additional time £75 per 30 mins.

We aim to have an engineer on-site within one hour at the latest. To book an on-site visit, please call our freephone number or e-mail us during office hours. If your request is more urgent, call our emergency 24/7 numbers (which you will receive in your welcome pack).

Remote Reboot Switch Port
For the nominal charge of £5.00 per month, you can have the peace of mind of being able to control reboots of the server yourself remotely. The Remote Reboot Switch is ideal for those times when your server "locks up" and you cannot get into it remotely. It Disconnects the power and then reconnects, forcing the server to reboot. This is controlled from a password protected web-based control panel which you can Test Drive by clicking here. (username and password are 'apc'). We thoroughly recommend this option, and have subsidised the price accordingly.
