About our Manchester Datacentres
NorthernColo offers co-location space from our own
two datacentres in Manchester.
Reynolds House, Manchester
Technopark
We are pleased to be able to offer space
in our own facility on the ground floor of Reynolds House on the
Manchester Technopark. Reynolds House is a
high-specification, purpose-built datacentre
building.
Our
facility is
independent of other colocation providers in the
building. Unlike other colocation
companies who are simply resellers of space, this
facility is owned and managed by us.
Externally the facility
is supplied by diverse routes from a main
electricity board substation.
A 2MW Generator with at least 7 days supply of fuel
provides us with full capability to sustain long
power outages, and APC Infrastruxure UPS in n+1 mode will provides us
with power to sustain load until the generator
starts up as well as ensuring a clean electrical
supply.
Air conditioning is provided by under floor cooling,
the air flow directed appropriately by grilles in
the floor. The capacity of the equipment is such
that a failure of one unit can be handled by the
other units.
A
full VESDA system that provides early detection of
smoke is in place so that any potential fire is
detected before it can develop. In the extremely
unlikely event that a fire does develop a FM200 fire
suppression system will be in place.
The facility is based
on Manchester TechnoPark which has guards on site
24/7 with offsite backup to deal with any major
event. CCTV cameras, motion detection and a key fob
access system will ensure a high level of security
with multiple layers of defence.
The datacentre is fed
by our own diverse dark fibre ring, with connections
to IFL2 and Telecity Manchester.
