We operate a fully redundant and resilient network over our Autonomous System, which means we are completely provider independent.

Each of the above locations is completely autonomous from the other, with independent connectivity from two transit providers. We use HP equipment across our network, and monitor all core devices both internally and externally. The diagram below explains our network connectivity in Manchester. In addition to internet connectivity at both sites, we are able to offer private interconnects between our two facilities, ideal for backups and replication.

We operate our own dark fibre ring in Manchester which gives us unmatched control and stability compared to other providers.

We are a RIPE member and operate our own AS, (AS39451).

Network Monitoring

Our network is monitored internally, which includes every single router, switch, firewall and server. Any outages are notified to us instantly by e-mail and SMS to our on-call engineer.

As a second line of monitoring, our key routers and services are monitored by an external monitoring server managed by ourselves. We also monitor the internal monitoring server!

As a third line of monitoring, we monitor all edge routers through an external service, which checks from multiple worldwide locations. This gives us extra visibility that our own monitoring would not achieve.

Our monitoring notifies us by both email and SMS when issues occur. Furthermore, we monitor saturation on links, again with alerts being generated if critical links are acting unusually.
